The “camp” reference in my work is Tekapo Military Camp which my father and I utilised as a studio to produce a number of major mural commissions. Landscape painting have never been contemplated however after the Lilybank Safari Lodge commission, our first mural, I was hooked. Painting in this isolated and tranquil location came as something of a revelation. The intense winters and extreme summer heat created an exhilarating and inspirational working environment.
